For JollyBird.ai, the goal was to transform the screenwriting process using advanced AI technology to help writers craft compelling scripts faster and more effectively. We began with comprehensive user research, speaking to over 50 screenwriters, filmmakers, and content creators to understand their pain points in the scriptwriting process. We discovered that writers struggled with structuring their ideas, overcoming writer’s block, and generating engaging dialogue. Based on these insights, we set out to create an AI-driven platform that could assist with script structure, character development, dialogue generation, and scene creation, streamlining the entire creative process. This research was supported by a deep competitive analysis, ensuring JollyBird.ai met the real needs of writers while standing out in a competitive market.
In the design phase, we focused on building an intuitive, user-friendly interface that would appeal to both experienced screenwriters and newcomers. Our platform needed to make it easy for users to input their ideas and receive AI-powered suggestions, while also allowing for creative control and customization. We designed a clean, distraction-free writing environment where users could access AI-generated plot outlines, character arcs, and dialogue, all tailored to their specific genre or style. Features like drag-and-drop scene arrangement, real-time collaboration, and the ability to tweak AI-generated suggestions were integrated to make the writing process smooth and enjoyable. Usability testing confirmed that the platform was accessible to users with varying levels of experience in screenwriting.
